Tonight on Chopped, Ted Allen introduces the four chefs that will be competing for $10,000 and the title of “Chopped Champion.” Green Goddess salad dressing, fortune cookies, and sourdough bread have to be utilized from the mystery baskets in the three courses tonight.
The judges for tonight’s competition are as follows;

- Geoffrey Zakarian



The Chefs competing for the title and $10,000 tonight are as follows;
- Chef William Bunn III
- Chef Jessica North
- Chef Dimitri Voutsinas
- Chef Jean-Louis Gerin
Ted Allen told the Chefs that they will be judged on Creativity, Taste and Presentation and they must use all of the ingredients in the basket in some way.
APPETIZER ROUND
He tells them that they have 20 minutes to complete the round and has them open their baskets which includes the following ingredients;
- Chicken Livers
- California Raisins
- Heirloom Tomato’s
- Green Goddess Salad Dressing
After the Chefs completed their dishes they were presented to the Judges and given the following critiques;
Chef William prepared Fried Chicken Livers w/ Heirloom Chutney. The judges said the livers were not cleaned properly and under cooked. They said his sauce was delicious but he did not transform the salad dressing.
Chef Jessica prepared Chicken Liver Crostini w/ a Spinach Salad. The judges said there was not a lot going on the plate. They said she did the best job of cooking the chicken livers. They told her if she moved forward she would have to cook to her potential.
Chef Dimitri prepared Fried Chicken Livers w/ Cognac & Fennel Tomato’s. The judges said his presentation was terrible but he had a lot of good flavors going on.
Chef Jean-Louis prepared Chicken Liver Frisee w/ Heirloom Tomato Sauce. The judges said he transformed the salad dressing very good but his liver was raw in the middle. They liked his presentation.
After deliberation the judges chopped Chef Jessica because she did not transform the basket ingredients.
ENTREE ROUND
Ted Allen told the Chefs they have 30 minutes to complete the round and has them open their baskets which includes the following ingredients;
- Branzino
- Baby Bok Choy
- Fortune Cookies
- Celery Soda
After the Chefs completed their dishes they were presented to the Judges and given the following critiques;
Chef Jean-Louis prepared Fried Branzino w/ Fortune Cookie Crumble. The judges said the fish was cooked perfectly. The cookie crumble did not work but the bok choy was fantastic.
Chef Dimitri prepared Pan Seared Branzino w/ Fortune Cookie Garnish. The judges said his fish was perfectly cooked but the skin got soggy from the sauce. They said his dish was harmonious.
Chef William prepared Fortune Cookie Coated Branzino w/ Sauted Bok Choy. The judges said parts of the fish were burnt which tasted bitter and he failed to get his sauce on two plates.
After careful deliberation the judges chopped Chef William for the burnt fish and failure to get sauce on two of the dishes.
DESSERT ROUND
Ted Allen told the Chefs they have 30 minutes to complete the round and has them open their baskets which includes the following ingredients;
- Sourdough Bread
- Dried Figs
- Coffee Beans
- Baby Fennel
After the Chefs completed their dishes they were presented to the Judges and given the following critiques;
Chef Jean-Louis prepared French Toast w/ Berry Chiboust. The judges said it was a bit too sweet but a lot of good techniques went into the dessert and it was delicious. The berries put the dish over the top w/ sweetness.
Chef Dimitri prepared French Toast w/ Caramelized Baby Fennel. The judges said the presentation was beautiful and the toast was delicious but the fennel was inedible. They said the coffee foam was delicious.
After careful deliberation Chef Dimitri was chopped and they told him it was almost too close to call and he had nothing to be ashamed of. he did a fantastic job tonight. They told Chef Jean-Louis that he was the Chopped Champion and he wins $10,000.
