Tonight on Sweet Genius the Pastry Chefs must use a chewy mandatory ingredient in the candy round which features magical inspiration to join Ron Ben-Israel in his world of “Sweet Genius and win $10,000.
The Chefs competing tonight are as follows;

- Pastry Chef Dominick Costa
- Pastry Chef Alterik Wilburn
- Pastry Chef Andrea Danielson
Round 1: Chocolate Dessert – Mandatory Ingredients & Inspiration - 40 minutes
- Roller Skates (inspiration)
- Taro Root
- Sweet Relish
After the time expires in round one, the Chefs must present their Chocolate Dessert to Ron Ben-Israel and receive the following critiques and possible elimination;
Chef Andrea prepared Chocolate Bark w/ Butter Cream & Taro Root Sauce. Ron said he could taste the grit of the powdered sugar and said she did not incorporate the mandatory ingredient in the chocolate.
Chef Dominic prepared Baked Chocolate Mousse w/ Berry & Relish Compote and Taro Root Whipped Cream. Ron said the mousse should not have been served in a paper cupcake container as it was inedible. He said the mousse was decadent and robust and the dish worked.
Chef Alterik prepared a White Chocolate Brownie and Taro Root Chips. Ron said the brownie was rich and dense and the chip had too much coating on it which made it hard to eat. Ron wondered where his inspiration was and Alterik talked about love which had nothing to do with roller blades.
Chef Natalie prepared White Chocolate & Taro Root Ganache w/ Sweet Relish Jam. Ron said the jam was delicious with many layers of flavor. He got her inspiration point.
After a short deliberation period Ron told Chef Alterik that in this round he was no sweet genius.
Round 2: Candy – Mandatory Ingredients & Inspiration - 50 minutes
- Genie Lamp (inspiration)
- Chocolate Chews
- Shredded Filo Dough
After the time expires in round two, the Chefs must present their Candy to Ron Ben-Israel and receive the following critiques and possible elimination;
Chef Natalie prepared Orange Jelly Candies & White Chocolate Nougats and Tuile w/ Honey Cream. Ron said the tuile was light and airy the nougats were soft, sweet, and delicious. He said the orange Jelly candies were gummy.
Chef Dominic prepared a Brittle Crown, Raspberry Mousse and Baked Filo. Ron said the filo had no flavor and could have been used better. He said the mousse was creamy and delicious but the brittle crown had no mandatory ingredients in it and it was the best thing on the plate.
Chef Andrea prepared Candy Balls 3 Ways w/ Spices, Figs, and Dates. Ron said the plate was visually impressive and the balls were nice and spicy, fruity and complex. He liked the magic carpet made from the filo.
After a brief deliberation he told Chef Dominic that in this round he was no sweet genius.
Round 3: Cake – Mandatory Ingredients & Inspiration - 60 minutes
- Mexican Wrestlers Mask (inspiration)
- Black Beans
- Sugar Sticks
After the time expires in round three, the Chefs must present their Cake to Ron Ben-Israel and receive the following critiques and possible elimination;
Chef Natalie prepared Tres Leches Cake & Black Bean Ice Cream. Ron said the cake was super moist, milky and splendid. He said the ice cream was earthy and interesting. He said she missed the mark on inspiration.
Chef Andrea prepared Black Bean Chocolate Molten Cake w/ Cherry and Berry Topping. Ron said her dish looked like a fight and nailed inspiration. He said her dish was like a punch in the mouth. He said her fruit was very sweet and he cake was delicious and peppery.
After careful deliberation he told Chef Andrea that she was no sweet genius. He welcomed Chef Natalie into his world of sweet genius and told her she won $10,000.
