Tonight on Sweet Genius the Pastry Chefs must use be inspired by a snake in the first round, use vegetables to make to candy and stinky cheese to make cake to join Ron Ben-Israel in his world of “Sweet Genius” and win $10,000.

The Chefs competing tonight are as follows;

  • Pastry Chef Tommy Juliano
  • Pastry Chef Jessica Mogardo
  • Pastry Chef Huacar Aquino
  • Pastry Chef Genevieve Meli

Round 1: Chocolate Dessert – Mandatory Ingredients & Inspiration - 40 minutes

  • Albino Python (inspiration)
  • Vanilla Wafers
  • Aloe Vera
  • Sriacha

After the time expires in round one, the Chefs must present their Chocolate Dessert to Ron Ben-Israel and receive the following critiques and possible elimination;

Chef Jessica prepared Banana Sorbet w/ Milk Chocolate Ganache & White Chocolate Snake. Ron said her dish was unusual and fun. He said he could not taste the sriacha. He said her sauce was soapy.

Chef Huacar prepared Dark Chocolate Ganache w/ Aloe Vera Vanilla Sauce & Chocolate Wafer Crumble. Ron said his dish was really nice and clever, velvety smooth and satisfying.

Chef Tommy prepared Vanilla Wafer Granola w/ Chocolate Custard w/ Passion Fruit Sauce. Ron said his dish was smooth and tangy with a kick. He said he did not detect the wafers as they got lost.

Chef Genevieve prepared Chocolate Truffles w/ Vanilla Wafer Shards & Passion Fruit Sauce. Ron said the brittle was delicate. He said the sauce was mucousy and he would pass on tasting it. He said the truffles were very creamy. He said her chocolate was too hot.

After careful deliberation he told Chef Genevieve that she was no sweet genius in that round and was eliminated.

Round 2: Candy – Mandatory Ingredients & Inspiration - 50 minutes

  • Beach Ball (inspiration)
  • Baby Carrots
  • Carob Chips

After the time expires in round two, the Chefs must present their Candy to Ron Ben-Israel and receive the following critiques and possible elimination;

Chef Jessica prepared Granola Rocher w/ Jellie Lolly Pop. Ron said her Jellie was good and liked the basil in it. He said the granola was chewy but not too heavy, like sunshine in his mouth.

Chef Huacar prepared Duo of Macaroons. Ron said his macaroons were crunchy and gooey, airy like a summer breeze, perfect.

Chef Tommy prepared Aerated Nougats & Aerated Chocolate w/ Fruit Jellies. Ron said the nougat was fun like summer time. He said the jellies were like salt water taffy.

After careful deliberation he told Chef Tommy that in this round he was no sweet genius. He told him he did too much.

Round 3: Cake – Mandatory Ingredients & Inspiration - 60 minutes

  • Juke Box (inspiration)
  • Avocado
  • Formaggio di Fossa

After the time expires in round three, the Chefs must present their Cake to Ron Ben-Israel and receive the following critiques and possible elimination;

Chef Huacar prepared Avocado Ice Cream w/ Apple Fossa Cake. Ron tasted the ice cream and said he could taste the avocado, it was very rich but not too sweet. He tasted the cake and said he could taste the cheese and it tasted great but it was not a cake. Chef Huacar admitted that he left the eggs out by mistake and it never rose.

Chef Jessica prepared Lime Avocado Cornmeal Cake w/ Frozen Avocado Yogurt and Lime Gelee. Ron said the gelee was heavenly. He said the cake had many flavorful notes and lite in flavor. He said the cake had toasted edges and it was a bit dense.

After careful deliberation he told Chef Huacar that it was a pleasure to have him compete but in this round he was no sweet genius.

He told Chef Jessica that she won $10,000 and welcomed her into his world of “Sweet Genius”.
