What Will Facebook Do To Users To Generate Expected Profits

Since Facebook has gone public a lot is expected from stock holders now for much more generated income than is currently being realized at this point. The selling point at $38.00 a share which boosted the overall worth of the company will now be hard shoes to fill for the social media forum. Revenue will have to be generated at a much higher rate at the expense of the advertisers and Facebook users.

Facebook’s worth is now 106 billion dollars since going public and netted owner Mark Zuckerberg a cool 19 billion in the public offering. A nice tidy profit for the shift from private to public. Zuckerberg remains one of the 30 richest people on Earth.

So what does the Facebook team have in mind to fulfill the expectations of stock holders now that they will be answering to Wall Street. Does your Facebook page get two rows of ad campaigns now or ads in-between posts. Currently only 10% of your Facebook page has ads on it at this point, but that has to increase in order to increase revenue which will now be expected from stock holders.

Facebook has competition with other social media sites and soon others will be generated that offer up cooler ways to get together with friends and express yourself.

Right now it’s a wait and see game but look forward to changes in the near future on your Facebook page as I am sure they are coming much to the dislike of the user – you and I!

Anytime investment bankers get involved in anything bad things happen as we have seen in the recent past. I think Facebook made a mistake by going public but only the future will tell us the if it was or not. Other social media sites have gone down the tubes in the past as new ones kick off. They are all fads.

Facebook only makes about $5.00 a year per user on ad revenue. Google makes four times that amount. Facebook will have to make more revenue for ads per user and that amounts to targeting mobile devices with ads which does not take place now and increased ad revenue on pages.

If Facebook becomes another advertising forum as many have in the past, users will bail to escape  another ad forum.
