CHALLENGE
Tonight’s challenge is create a dessert from a mystery basket and give a 1 minute presentation which will be judged by three Chopped judges, Bob and Susie and the team leaders. They must create their dishes in 30 minutes and plate 9 dishes. The bottom dish and presentation on each team will face possible elimination.

TEAM ALTON

  • Hershey Kisses
  • Graham Crackers
  • Panchetta
  • Cumquats
  1. Martie – Indoors Smores
  2. Justin – No Bake Cookies
  3. Judson – Chocolate Cornbread
  4. Emily – Cupcakes

The judges thought Martie was apologizing for her age during her presentation and the chopped judges said her dish was easy to make and she did not transform the graham cracker.

The judges liked Justin’s dessert and his presentation though they worried about him throughout the cooking phase of the competition.

Judson’s presentation was much improved from last week but the judges said his cake was not cooked through.

The judges liked Emily’s presentation and loved her cupcakes.

TEAM GIADA

  • Reese’s Pieces
  • Popcorn
  • Coconut
  • Grape Soda
  1. Linkie – P&J Chocolate Mousse
  2. Ippy – Mango Tempura
  3. Martita – Bunuelos
  4. Josh – Asian Inspired Donuts
  5. Yvan – Bread Pudding w/ Carmalized Popcorn

The judges thought Ippy’s dessert was good as well as his presentation.

The judges thought Martita’s presentation fell flat but liked her food.

The judges loved Linkie’s presentation and her mousse.

The judges liked Yvan’s presentation and his dessert.

The judges did not like Josh’s presentation and said he had un-popped kernels in his dessert and could not taste the Reese’s Pieces.

TEAM BOBBY

  • Pineapple
  • Hershey Milk Chocolate Bar
  • Pasta Sheets
  • Black lava salt
  1. Malcolm – Tart
  2. Eric – Hawaiian Napoleon w/ Caramel & Chocolate Sauce
  3. Nikki – Bread Pudding
  4. Michele – Sweet Cheese Napoleon

The judges thought Michele appeared nervous during her presentation but thought her dessert was great.

The judges thought that Malcolm’s presentation was lack luster but also liked his dish.

The judges loved Eric’s dish and his presentation.

The judges thought Nikki’s presentation was scripted and her plating sloppy and under cooked.

PRODUCERS CHALLENGE

The teams went before Susie and Bob and Bob said that they thought that Alton’s team did the best job and chose Martie from his team. They chose Josh from Giada’s team and Nikki from Bobby’s team.

They told the three that they would have to prepare an indoor grilled dish in 30 minutes and do a 1 minute presentation on how th grill indoors. After tasting and watching each dish and presentation they told Nikki she was safe. After deliberation they told Josh he was eliminated as it was his second week at the bottom and did not do well with his presentation. I do not think anyone was surprised with his departure as I thought he was beat in the producers challenge last week.
