Tonight four Food Network stars compete for a chance to win $10,000 for the charity of their choice. All of the chefs currently have shows on the Food Network except for Amy who was a contestant of Food Network Star in season three but did not get her own show.

Tonight’s judges are as follows;

• Bobby Flay
• Giada De Laurentiis
• Alton Brown

The Chefs competing for the title and $10,000 tonight are as follows;

• Chef Melissa d’Arabian
• Chef Amy Finley
• Chef Jeff Mauro
• Chef Aarti Sequeira

Ted Allen told the Chefs that they will be judged on Creativity, Taste and Presentation and they must use all of the ingredients in the basket in some way.

APPETIZER ROUND
He tells them that they have 20 minutes to complete the round and has them open their baskets which includes the following ingredients;

• Smoked Kippers
• Hard Boiled Eggs
• Treviso
• Sparkling Cider

After the Chefs completed their dishes they were presented to the Judges and given the following critiques;

Chef Jeff prepared a Smoked Kipper Salad Sandwich. The judges said his sandwich looked good but was inedible due to the bones in it. He knew he left the bones in it but served it. 2o minutes to make a sandwich and left the bones in the fish.

Chef Melissa prepared a Apple Cider Bellini. The judges said her dish had great balance and bite but the butter in it coated their mouth and they could not taste the flavors in her dish.

Chef Amy prepared a Bittersweet Bistro Salad. The judges said had the kipper been blended better within the salad it would have been a great dish but as it was the kipper stood alone. 

Chef Aarti prepared a Brandad Breakfast Taco. The judges said her dish did not represent the name since their were no potato’s in her taco. They said the celery leaves overpowered her dish, but the other flavors were good.

After careful deliberation the judges chopped Chef Jeff for stupidity and laziness.

ENTREE ROUND
Ted Allen told the Chefs they have 30 minutes to complete the round and has them open their baskets which includes the following ingredients;

• Black Chicken
• Escarole
• Cream Of Coconut
• Guava

After the Chefs completed their dishes they were presented to the Judges and given the following critiques;

Chef Melissa prepared Braised Black Chicken Coco Van w/ Escarole. The judges said the wine sauce was delicious and gave the chicken great flavor but her failure to remove the seeds from the guava was a poor choice.

Chef Aarti prepared Grilled Black Chicken w/ Curried

Escarole. The judges said the chicken had great flavor but was under cooked. They said the guava relish was great.

Chef Amy prepared a Malaysian Black Chicken Noodle Bowl. The judges said her concept was great but she needed more time to extract the chicken flavor and as a result there was little flavor in her dish.

After careful deliberation the judges chopped Chef Amy for the reasons above.

DESSERT ROUND
Ted Allen told the Chefs they have 30 minutes to complete the round and has them open their baskets which includes the following ingredients;

• Fenugreek
• Cinnamon Cereal
• Japanese Mayo
• Frozen Peas

After the Chefs completed their dishes they were presented to the Judges and given the following critiques;

Chef Aarti prepared Cinnamon Cereal Bread Pudding w/ Pea Sauce. The judges said her bread pudding was dry with spots of raw egg in it. She chose the wrong dish to use. They liked her pea sauce though.

Chef Melissa prepared a Japanese Mayo Cookie with Chocolate Ganache & Pea Cream Topping. The judges said the cookie could have been better with less pea cream which was too sweet, but it had good flavor and texture from the toasted pine nuts.

After a review of the entire meal the judges chopped Chef Melissa and Chef Aarti wins the $10,000 for the charity of her choice.
